Constipation & Diarrhea

Whether it be constipation or diarrhea, both extremes cause fatigue and unbearable disturbance in routine life. Here's some very effective stuff to cure both :)

Constipation:

Oranges - Yes, the most famous and highly prescribed one..especially to women right after delivery. Because it softens the stool and therefore prevents the stitches from loosening.

Green Leafy Vegetables - Is there even an inch of doubt in the effectiveness of this stuff? Nope!

Sultanas - Not so famous, but it cleans up your stomach quicker than you thought! Soak 7 sultanas overnight and let them be the first thing you shove into your mouth the next morning.

Egg - Heals constipation over a day or two. An egg a day definitely keeps constipation off the bay.

Honey - One teaspoon! Works best when mixed with a glass of warm milk.

Mango: Yes, the king of fruits does it right! Will take just a few hours if you eat a good share of mango.

Fresh Apple Juice - It has to be fresh, it has to be just Apple and nothing else ground away with water.

Water - All time leader! But it takes regular intake.

Gripe water - This is not a raw natural product,  but is made of certain herbs that heal constipation and all other stomach upsets. In the subcontinent,  people give a daily dose of one/two teaspoons to their newborns in order to keep them healthy and at par from stomach troubles.

Diarrhea:

Bananas - Yes, a banana or two should do the trick. Four bananas a day won't harm either...so eat till you heal.

Yoghurt - Add desired amount of sugar to a saucerfull of yoghurt and eat it twice a day. Heals at fair speed.

Uncooked Custard - Mix a tablespoon of custard powder in twice as much milk; add a pinch of sugar and mix it well. Drink it down! Might require greater quantity at times though.

Sago Pearls - These are really tiny pearl like seeds or God knows what. All I know is they're really effective. Soak 2 -3 tablespoonfuls in water for 20 minutes (Add enough water cuz the sago will consume double or thrice as much space after being soaked) Cook the sago until they turn transparent and the water gets thick. Add these to a glass of milk, shut your eyes and just gulp it down =p

Cucumber - Yup! *nomnomnom*

Water - Yes, here as well. Water is a universal healer.

Most of this stuff could be fed to infants of 4months+ as well (in liquid form), although its better to ask your kid's consultant before doing so.

I'm pretty sure there's stuff that I've failed to recall. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above mentioned remedies.

Stay Healthy!
